Friday 8 September 2023, applications are available to apply for a Year 7 placement within a South Tyneside Secondary School (link below)

The application process closes Tuesday 31 October 2023 and an acknowledgement email or letter, depending on how you have applied, by the end of December 2023.

‘Offer Day’ is Friday 1 March 2024 at 8.30am and you will be advised via the method you applied for the place. The deadline for accepting the place on Friday 11 March 2024 at 4.30pm.

Please note: At the request of the Local Authority Admissions Team, we are only able to contact you after 15 April 2024. Communication from our school will be via letter, email and text so please ensure you complete the below form at your earliest convenience. If you have accepted a place, we would require you to complete and submit an admission form below.  This webform provides information to the school regarding contact details, medical conditions and also permissions linked to use of pictures, trips etc.

Please note the form must be completed in one go as the form will not be saved. This form will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes for you to complete. The form must be completed once per child entering the school.

General Admissions

Being a maintained school, admissions to Hebburn Comprehensive, at the normal point of transfer, are undertaken by South Tyneside Local Authority (link below). Outside of that time, parents are asked to make written applications to the Local Authority, whose staff will then liaise with the school. After applications have been received, we will make contact with parents and carers to discuss arrangements for admission mid-year.  This will normally be done by Mrs Burdis, Assistant Head Teacher.
