Dear Parent/Carer

PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE SCHOOL DAY W.E.F 7TH March, 2022

Now that COVID measures in schools are starting to be relaxed, we are reviewing our day-to-day arrangements and will need to make some operational changes to the school day. Please note that the start and finish times will remain the same as they are now (8.40am and 2.45pm).

As has been the case since September, pupils should be in their designated yard by 8.35am for morning entry. To allow full year group assemblies to take place at the start of the day, form period will go back where it traditionally before COVID restrictions were introduced.

Because of a significant population increase since the start of the pandemic, we will be retaining a split break.

The revised configuration of the school day will be as follows:

8.40 – 9.00 – form period

9.00 – 10.00 – period 1

10.00 – 10.15 – morning break for years 7 & 8

10.15 – 11.15 – period 2 for years 7 & 8

10.00 – 11.00 – p.2 for years 9, 10 & 11

11.00 – 11.15 – morning break for years 9, 10 & 11

11.15 – 12.15 – period 3

Period 4           Year 7 – 12.15 – 12.45 & 1.15 – 1.45

Years 8 & 9 – 12.45 – 1.45

Years 10 and 11 – 12.15 – 1.15

12.15 – 12.45 – lunch for years 8 and 9

12.45 – 1.15 – lunch for year 7

1.15 – 1.45 – lunch for years 10 and 11

!.45 – 2.45 – period 5

Due to the re-positioning of the lunch for years 10 and 11, pupils may wish to bring in a snack to eat at break time which should be consumed in the covered space.

If you have any feedback on the changes, please email schoolday@hebburn.net before Friday 25 February.
