School Uniform

At Hebburn Comprehensive School, we take a very positive view towards school uniform. It gives our pupils a sense of belonging and is an important part of our corporate image. We encourage our pupils to have a sense of pride in their own personal appearance and particularly in the wearing of school uniform, as this is looked upon as their badge of membership of the Hebburn Comprehensive School community.

If pupils are not in correct school uniform, they must have a signed note from home with an explanation and an indication of when the issue will be rectified. Heads of Learning or Assistant Heads of Learning may contact parents/carers to discuss issues with uniform.

It is hugely important that staff are not wasting valuable teaching and learning time on issues with school uniform. To avoid any distractions, parents and carers are asked to ensure that pupils are wearing the correct school uniform.

In 2013, I informed parents and cares that we would be phasing in a new polo shirt in PE. From September 2015, pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 will require a red polo shirt with the school’s badge, which can be purchased from JK Clothing in Jarrow. Ties and badges can be purchased from the school office.

Thank you in advance for your support.
