Following the announcement on Saturday evening, we will be launching the government’s free school meals voucher scheme today.
What happens?
You will receive an email to the address we have on our management information system. Please check junk and spam folders. The email should take you through the steps you need to follow to access your £15 voucher and the supermarkets available.
When will I get my vouchers?
We have set up the system to send out vouchers on the following dates:
Tuesday 7th April
Tuesday 14th April
Tuesday 21st April
Tuesday 28th April
Tuesday 5th May
Tuesday 12th May
There will be further dates published when we have a better understanding of how long the voucher scheme will be required, but the government has said that it will continue for as long as schools remain closed. Please note that we have no indication of when the school will re-open. We’ve just set the dates above in a 6-week block.
What will I get?
You will receive one voucher per family.
1 child = £15
2 children = £30
3 children = £45
4 children = £60
5 children = £75
We still do not have all email addresses. If you have not contacted the school, could you please email with your details or call us on 0191 4833199 between 9.00am and 10.00am by Thursday 9th April.
There may be some teething problems during the set up period because we have not used this system before and schools across the country. I ask in advance that parents work with us and remain patient should we encounter any issues. We are aiming to roll out the scheme as quickly as possible.

Due to the number of vouchers being processed across the country, we are aware that there is a delay in people receiving emails nationally. This is an issue with the government’s provider; they hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.
We would advise that parents wait, rather than contact them directly because there is a call charge.
