H: grades 4 to 9

2 sections:
a. Q & A in English
b. Q & A in French
3 sections:

a. Q & A in English

c. Translation from French to English: 35 words for Foundation & 50 for Higher
Foundation: 4 questions
Higher: 3 questions

Foundation:
Q1: Listing task ( students to produce 6 nouns for example)/6 points
Q2: message ( 9 sentences in response to nine tasks)/ 18 points
Q3: Translation from English to French: 35 words/10 marks
Q4: writing task ( response to 5 compulsory bullets points: 90 words in total & there is a choice from 2 questions/ 16 points
Higher:
Q1: writing task ( Similar to Q4 from foundation)16 points
Q2: open-ended writing task( choice out of 2 topics and 150 words/ 32 points
Q3: Translation: English into French (minimum 50 words/ 12 points
role-play/155 tasks, each worth 3 points
photo card/155 questions: marked out of communication & use of language
5 levels:
• L1: 1-3 points
• L2: 4-6
• L3: 7-9
• L4: 10-12
• L5: 13-15
General conversation/302 topics not covered in photo card: F: 3-5 minutes/ H: 5 to 7 minutes
